터키공화국의 리더십과 정치문화변동 연구: 아타튀르크와 에르도안을 중심으로

본 논문은 터키공화국 초기 아타튀르크 정권과 건국 100년을 마주한 에르도안 현 정권의 정치체제와 정치문화를 비교함으로써 리더십과 정치문화가 어떻게 연동하고 변화하고 있는지를 살펴볼 것이다. 문헌 자료를 기초로 터키 정권의 기초 가치 체계와 현 정권의 차이를 파악하고, 두 리더십간 정치체제와 정치문화를 비교·분석하여 그 차이와 공통점을 찾고자 하였다. 두 정권 모두 지도자의 강력한 리더십을 기반으로 국정을 운영했다. 리더십과 정치체제 변동은 정치문화의 변화와 그로 인한 사회문화의 변화를 견인하고 있다. 터키공화국을 건국한 아타튀르크 정권은 ‘터키식 세속주의’와 ‘진보적 권위주의’라는 새로운 정치문화를 출현시켰고, 현 에르도안 정권은 ‘터키식 이슬람주의’와 ‘보수적 권위주의’라는 그동안 비주류였던 리더십과 정치문화를 부상시켰다. 따라서 본 연구는 정치·역사·사회·문화를 아우르는 통합적 분석을 통해 터키공화국의 리더십과 정치문화변동의 단면을 설명하고자 했다. 이는 최근 빠르게 변화하고 있는 터키 정치사회를 이해하는 데 도움이 될 거라 생각된다.
Abstract
This research compares the political leadership and political culture of Erdoğan’s administration and Atatürk’s regime. It examines the impact of political change on the political code based on the leadership. Both governments have ruled the Republic by changing the political system, which affected the changes in political culture and social culture. While Atatürk’s administration introduced new political cultures like 'Turkish Secularism' and 'Progressive Authoritarianism,' Erdoğan’s regime revived the minority political culture of 'Turkish Islamism' and 'Conservative Authoritarianism.' This article aims to understand the recent socio-political change and cultural transformation from the leadership perspective by utilizing various literature reviews.
