대학교육의 고 효능을 위한 교수학습 혁신방안: 미국사례의 검토를 통한 새로운 디자인

본 연구는 대학이 학부생들의 경험적 학습의 기회를 확대하여 보다 영향력 있고 학습효과를 높일 수 있는 교수-학습 전략을 제시하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 먼저 경험적 학습의 교수-학습전략의 이론적 배경으로 Kolb의 경험 학습 이론과 구성주의 이론을 검토하였다. 다음으로 대학교육의 학습효과를 높이기 위하여 미국대학에서 대학교육의 고 효능을 위해 실천하고 있는 교수-학습 전략의 개념과 사례를 소개하였다. 다음으로, 검토한 교수-학습 전략을 대학 간, 대학-산업체, 대학-지역 학교, 대학-지역 사회 중심으로 적용 및 실천할 수 있는 방안을 제시하였다. 마지막으로 대학교육에서 담당해야할 대학생들의 디지털 시민역량 교육, 글로벌 시민역량 교육의 필요성을 제언하였다. 따라서 본 논문은 위기에 처한 국내의 대학들이 교육과정 수립 및 외부기관과의 협력을 구축하기 위한 기초자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to introduce high impact strategies which can lead to significant learning of college students as a part of innovating colleges and universities in terms of the quality of courses. First, Kolb’s experiential learning theory and constructivism were reviewed as guiding theories for college students’ experiential learning. Next, more than ten instructional learning design strategies were introduced for instructors to adopt and implement in their course designing based on the review of examples in the United States. Next, several suggestions were made for colleges and universities to support instructors to utilize the reviewed strategies. Next, some innovative trends and examples that colleges and universities can consider to educate college students as desirable global and digital citizens. Therefore, this study can provide a basis for higher education institutes to design and integrate high impact learning strategies into courses for improving college students’ experiential learning opportunities.
