한국 무형문화재 관련 사전 편찬의 현황 및 방향

이 연구는 개화기 이후부터 2010년까지 국내에 간행된 사전 중에서 한국 무형문화재와 관련된 사전 편찬의 현황을 분석하여, ‘한국 무형문화재 사전’ 편찬의 필요성과그 사전 편찬의 미래적 프레임을 아래와 같이 제안하고자 한다. 첫째, 한국 무형문화재는 한국이라는 지역적 토대를 기반으로 한 동일한 문화권 속에서 시간의 축적과 함께 전승되어 온 역사성⋅학술성⋅예술성⋅대표성을 지닌 공식화된 고전이라고 할 수 있다. 해당 분야를 다룬 종이 사전은 약 17개 정도이며, 이 중2개는 검색포털을 통해 온라인으로 제공된다. 둘째, 한국 무형문화재의 분야를 다소 비중있게 다룬 공공기관의 대표적인 사전 3개의 해제를 통해서 내용적인 측면을 살펴보니, 한국 무형문화재의 사적 조망을 가능하게 해 주는 중요한 정보를 제공해주었다. 다만 표제어의 집필내용이 소략하게 제시된점, 제시된 내용들이 단편적이라는 점, 편집의 완성도가 떨어진다는 점들은 해당 사전편찬의 한계이자, 차후 보완되어야 할 과제들이다. 셋째, 한국 무형문화재에 대한 본질적인 이해 접근을 통해서 무형적 유산들의 진화적인 과정과 그 과정을 작품화시킨 인물들까지 조명할 수 있는 사전 편찬의 미래적 설계가 필요하다. 본고에서는 국가무형문화재 제27호 ‘승무’를 표제어로 선정하여, ‘한국무형문화재 사전’ 편찬의 집필 프레임을 제시한다.
Abstract
This study analyzed the status of published dictionaries associated with the intangible cultural properties of Korea among all dictionaries that have been published from right after the opening period to year 2010 and, based on the analysis, it aimed to identify a necessity for publication of ‘Dictionary on Korea Intangible Cultural Properties’ and to propose a publication frame for knowledge construction in the future. The results are as follows. Firstly, the intangible cultural properties of Korea are considered as the formalized classical assets that contain the historical, academical, artistic and representative values, which all have been passed down along the accumulation of time within identical cultural boundary based on the regional basis of Korea. There are about 17 hard-copied dictionaries that have involved in the corresponding domain and the two of these are currently being provided in on-line environment via search portals. Secondly, this study selected 3 dictionaries as representatives and took them into pieces for further analysis. The results enabled to identify the phases of the times when the knowledge of each sector was published and to perceive that those can be the fundamental data for research on the history of related dictionary. However, there were several limitations in relevant dictionary publication and also tasks to be supplemented in the future, for instance, the headwords were roughly written, the content descriptions were too fragmentary, or the degree of completion in editing was relatively lower. Thirdly, it is required to design a dictionary that reflects futuristic senses based on the knowledge platform that is constructed through an approach with fundamental understanding on the intangible cultural properties of Korea. This study proposed a futuristic frame of ‘Dictionary on Korea Intangible Cultural Properties’ publication through ‘Seungmu (Dance of Buddhist monk)’, which is one of intangible cultural properties of Korea. As mentioned above, the core values of the integrated information DB construction project for dictionary publication include to investigate the past dictionaries, to compare them with those currently available and to provide a ground for seeing through the future dictionaries.
