큐비즘의 특징을 활용한 메이크업 작품 연구

메이크업은 창의성과 독창성을 매우 필요로 하는 장르이지만일반사람들에게는 기술성만이 부각되는 분야로 인식되고 있기때문에 예술성을 부여하기 위하여 예술적이며 감각적인 큐비즘회화를 활용한 작품 제작 연구를 필요로 한다. 본 연구는 미술사조인 큐비즘에 대한 전문 서적과 선행 논문 및 다양한 문헌, 인터넷 자료 등을 참고하여 표현 기법과 회화적으로 분류하였고, 분석적 큐비즘에서는 다시점과 투명성, 종합적 큐비즘에서는 콜라쥬와 빠삐에 꼴레로 나누어 고찰하였으며, 대표 작가 2 인의 작품에서 영감을 받아 2차원적 스타일화로 표현하여 시각화한 후 모델에게 직접 메이크업하여 3차원적인 작품으로 제작한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 큐비즘은 기존 회화에서 벗어나고자 시작된 미술 운동으로, 원근법을 무시한 다시점이 생겨났으며, 그로 인해 초기의큐비즘은 다면체의 형태와 모노크롬적 색채로 표현되었다. 이후큐비즘은 대상 해체의 과정을 거쳐 중첩에 의한 투명성이 나타났다. 그러나 중기에 이르러서는 과도한 해체가 대상을 모호하게 하였고, 그 해결 방법으로 큐비스트들은 콜라쥬와 빠삐에 꼴레 기법을 사용하여 표현했다는 것을 알 수 있다. 둘째, 큐비즘은 시대적, 회화적 분류에 따라 분석적 큐비즘과종합적 큐비즘으로 분류할 수 있으며, 분석적 큐비즘은 다시점과 투명성, 종합적 큐비즘은 콜라쥬와 빠삐에 콜레로 분류할 수있다. 다시점은 다양한 시점이 한 화면에 담겨지는 것이 특징이고, 투명성은 가시적 투명성이 아닌 현상적 투명성으로 중첩되어 있지만 사실상 ‘존재한다’는 것이 큐비즘에서의 투명성이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 콜라쥬와 빠삐에 콜레는 같은 종이를 사용하여도 콜라쥬에서는 그 종이를 재료로 사용하였고, 빠삐에콜레에서는 종이만 사용하여 종이의 질감과 색채만을 사용한다는 것이 특징이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 셋째, 분석적 큐비즘은 다시점적인 표현으로 나타난 다면체와 해체, 재조합이 투명성에 영향을 미쳐 배경과 구분되지 않는화면을 표현한 것을 볼 수 있었고, 종합적 큐비즘에서는 다시 시작된 색채의 표현, 문자의 도입, 단순화된 구조가 특징이라는것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 현대 디자인 발전에 큰 영향을 미친 큐비즘의 표현기법을 활용하여 메이크업 분야의 예술적 가치 창출과 창의적이고 독특한 메이크업 디자인의 가능성을 제시하려고 하였다. 피카소와 브라크의 작품을 통하여 메이크업과 큐비즘의 표현기법을 결합하는 것은 메이크업 작품에 예술성을 부여하고, 콜라쥬와 빠삐에 콜레를 통하여 다양한 재료의 가능성을 발견했으며 큐비즘의 표현 기법과 재료의 다양성은 메이크업 디자인에 있어서 중요한 연구방향이라는 것을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 큐비즘의 표현 기법과 대표 작가를 바탕으로 이루어졌지만 앞으로 진행될 후속 연구에서는 더욱 다양한 미술사조를 메이크업 분야와 결합하여 메이크업 분야를 더욱 예술적이고 독창적인 분야로 발전시킬 수 있는 연구가 진행되기를 기대한다.
Abstract
This study aims to improve make-up artistry by combining elements of Cubism to suggest creative make-up designs. We investigated specialized books, thesis, and online materials about Cubism, and classified its painting features and expressional techniques. Then, we selected the most influential Cubists and created 8 make-up designs inspired by their works. Analytic Cubism contains various views on one screen, but, using transparency, it is possible to see multiple images despite them overlapping. Collages of comprehensive Cubism use various materials including different types of paper. Picasso and Braque - founders of Cubism - were selected, and four works from each artist were studied. Ambiguities between background and object were shown due to multiview expressions and de-construction/reconstruction of analytic Cubism. In comprehensive Cubism, colors that disappeared were introduced again along with letters to allow the visualization of simplified structures. Next, make-up works were created from these analyses. This study was based on Cubism’s expressional techniques and most influential artists. Future studies can be combined to offer additional concepts combining art and make-up. We expect that this would increase the artistry and originality of make-up.
