초록
This study performed a self-administered questionnaire survey among a total of 320 college women in Gyeonggido and Gangwon-do to analyze characteristics of the occurrence of acne and investigate correlations among facewashing and overall experiences with acne, living habits, and cosmetics. SPSSWIN 18.0 was utilized for data analysis, frequency analysis, multiple-response analysis and crosstab analysis. Results are as follows: in terms of acne experience, ‘currently suffering from acne’ or ‘had acne before, but not anymore’ were the most prevalent responses, accounting for 88.2% in ‘age 19 – under 20’, followed by ‘age 25 or older (69.7%)’. Regarding lifestyle habits of those who are suffering (or suffered) from acne, ‘less than 7 hours' was the most common response returned for sleep duration. In terms of dietary habits, ‘mostly meat’ and ‘wheat flour and fried dishes’ were most commonly selected (85.3%). When asked where acne most often occurs, ‘forehead, cheek, nose’ were the most frequent responses (67.1%). In terms of acne type, ‘slightly reddish acne’ was the most common response (56.9%). In terms of relevance between acne experience and family history, ‘sibling with a similar lifestyle’ was the most frequently selected response (p<0.01). Regarding relevance between acne experience and use of cosmetics, those who had acne before (33.8%) were more abundant than those with no acne experience (16.7%) in terms of the use of cosmeceuticals (acne, atopic dermatitis, etc.) with statistical significance (p<0.01). Concerning relevance between acne experience and face washing, those who had acne before (3 times or higher, 22.7%) accounted for a greater amount than those with no acne experience (10.0%) in terms of face washing frequency (p<0.05).
