초록
The purpose of this paper is to analyze and illuminate William Wordsworth' epic vision more deeply. Wordsworth utilized the two main terms for the analysis in this paper: epic imagination and epic identity. In this paper he concerns French revolution experiences with the epic imagination which was employed to gain the epic vision. Also, this paper deals with the more direct elements of the epic vision that his epic identity in The Prelude could be explained as the creation or the discovery of self. However, he shows us that his epic identity encounters with the moral crisis when he communicates with the truth about the nature of reality. He is split between his longing for the imaginary other world and his moral crisis to the society. Therefore, Wordsworth is indicating that the essential human value which he should pursue consists in the inner part of human soul in this paper. He is clearly revealing the epic vision that was implied as an experiment in the possibility of the unforeseeable future in this paper.
