초록

This study explores the integration of English drama into high school language education, highlighting its effectiveness in enhancing language proficiency and communicative competence. Drama-based instruction, which includes role-play, improvisation, and performance, encourages active student participation and mirrors real-life communication scenarios. By engaging with drama, learners develop their skills in listening, speaking, reading, and writing, while also improving non-verbal communication, such as body language and facial expressions. Drama fosters a student-centered approach, increasing motivation, confidence, and collaboration in the classroom. The research draws upon various educational techniques, including drama games, mime, and role-playing activities, demonstrating their pedagogical value in language acquisition. Through drama, students not only strengthen their language skills but also deepen cultural understanding and critical thinking, essential for navigating real-world communicative tasks. This paper outlines specific strategies for implementing drama in language education, providing practical examples such as the use of "The Diary of Anne Frank" in a classroom setting. The findings suggest that drama is a dynamic and holistic tool that engages students, supports emotional and cognitive development, and prepares them for real-world language use.
