Abstract

This Thesis is studied about the imagery method and its meaning of KimYeongJu-Jeon. First, it is estimated this work’s bibliography and background, and then is examined literature imagery aspect. On the basis of this discussion, let’s pick out this work’s literature meaning and its limitation. he main contents is summarized as follows. First, it is searched bibliography and transcription background. This text is possessed by Prof. Sa-JaeDong, and now is transferred to the library of Chungnam Univ. So this text doesn’t discussed in earnest. This text is a has a long work text to 80 pages including back and forth cover. And this text is an one volume, a man has written contents. And its is guessed transcription period is guessed about 1910 roughly. Maybe its writter would be a professional transcriber, or ordinary person knowing a classic novel. Because in the text, easy Chinese is written that down the way it sounds. Second, it is examined about literature imagery of the text. This text has a various motives, so these are embodied wholly into the text. The noteworthy facts of these are realization of new heaven, variation of woman character and acceptance of the phases of the times, uplift of national consciousness through the foreign ground, and reflection of popular consciousness through the humorous events etc. The realization of new heaven is an ordinary fact on the aristocratic ideal novel, and it is conformed main summary in this text. And in the variation of woman character and acceptance of the phases of the times, the woman that faithful to the feudal system and its counter-intuitive woman appear and encourage their conflicts. This is a reflection of the problem that one´s wife and concubine system or patriarchism. Besides the fact that woman character is active in as a hero would be revealed woman’s identity or power. The uplift of national consciousness through the foreign ground is revealed the identity or dignity of Choseon. And in the reflection of popular consciousness through the humorous events, it is understood the gathering of the characteristic of performing arts in the Latter Period Choseon Dynasty. Third, it is considered the meaning and the limitation of the literature history. This text has a various sources, so in this text the facts of the domestic novel, dream novel, hero novel and heroine novel’s elements have contained widely. And it is mean that a strong point of the subtype of novel is gathered properly. In that sense, classic novel’s lower phenomenon that copied former texts is appeared. But this text doesn’t have a logicality or causality that is a novel’s characteristic. Because this text is made by invisible mending of existing story facts. And this is the limitation of literary value or literature history of this text.
