틸리히의 신론에 따르면, 현실적인 존재는 존재와 비존재가 결합된유한한 존재이고, 유한한 존재는 비존재의 위협으로 인해서 불안을 양산하게 되고, 비존재의 위협과 그에 따른 불안은 유한성 속에 있는 존재의 구조를 파괴하고 분열시킨다. 하지만 인간은 그의 존재를 위협하는 분열과 죽음에도 불구하고 그의 존재를 긍정하는 존재론적인 용기를 가지고 있기 때문에 그는 계속해서 존재한다. 그러나 그러한 용기는어떻게 가능한가? 이것이 존재의 근본적인 물음이고 틸리히의 신론의결정적인 물음이다. 틸리히에 따르면 존재 자체이신 하나님이 인간의존재의 근본적인 물음에 대한 대답이다. 존재 자체이신 하나님이 유한한 존재의 기원이고 유한한 존재를 유지시키고 유한한 존재를 자신과의 통일성 속에 있는 궁극적인 성취를 향해 이끌어 간다. 인간은 이와같은 창조자 하나님에 대한 믿음 속에서 비존재의 불안을 받아들이고극복하는 존재에의 용기를 취한다. 그렇다면 이와 같은 폴 틸리히의 신론의 신학적인 의의는 무엇인가? 첫째, 틸리히의 신론은 창조적인 심연적인 존재의 근거의 개념을통해서 초자연주의적인 이신론과 자연주의적인 범신론을 극복한 자기초월적인 신론이다. 둘째, 틸리히의 신론은 상징의 개념을 통해서 문자주의와 역사주의 사이의 대립을 극복하고 이 대립에서 유래한 신앙의유비의 한계성을 극복한 상징적 존재의 유비의 신학이다. 셋째, 틸리히의 신론은 존재론적인 탐구를 통해서 개체주의적 사고와 인격주의적사고를 극복하고 주체성에서 존재로 방향을 전환한 존재론적인 패러다임의 신학이다.
Abstract
what are significances of Paul Tillich’ ontological doctrine of God? First, Tillich’ doctrine of God is the self-transcendent doctrine of God overcoming supranaturalistic deism and naturalistic pantheism by using of the concept of the ground of being. Second, Tillich’doctrine of God is the theology of symbolic analogia entis overcoming the opposition between traditional literalism and histori-c a l criticism, and overcoming the limit of analogia fidei by using of the concept of the symbol. Third, Tillich’ doctrine of God is the theology of ontological paradigm overcoming individualistic thinking and personalistic thinking and making a turn from subject to being by the means of ontological analysis of being. In conclusion, Tillich’ doctrine of God is the model of contemporary theology. Because Tillich’ doctrine of God overcomes atheistic criticism and the opposition between deism and pantheism which were main problems of modern world by analyzing the question of being thoroughly.
