코로나19 이후 비대면 상황과 공동체성에 대한 교회론적 고찰

초록

본고는 코로나19 확산 이후 교회를 포함한 사회의 여러 영역에서 적용된 디지털 및 정보통신 기술을 활용한 비대면 상황에 대해 분석하고, 이와 관련하여 교회의 공동체성에 대한 교회론적 고찰을 시도한 논문이다. 비대면 상황은 팬데믹 이후 교회뿐 아니라 인간 사회의 여러 영역에 중요한 삶의 양식으로 자리 잡았다. 교회 공동체들은 사역적인목표들을 이루기 위한 온라인 콘텐츠들과 모임들을 지속해서 만들고활용하였다. 이는 비대면 상황이 성도들과 교회 공동체의 삶 가운데지속적인 적용과 어느 정도의 적응 과정을 거쳤음을 시사한다. 비대면상황이 디지털 및 정보통신 기술의 기술적 매개를 통한다는 사실을 참작하여 이와 관련한 중요한 요소들을 비평적으로 분석하였다. 여기에는 비대면 상황에서 나타나는 여러 관계 형성 및 발전에 있어 향상된개인들의 독립성, 온라인상에서의 개인들의 탈맥락화의 현실과 같은부분들이 포함된다. 이와 관련하여 본고는 교회 공동체의 삶의 맥락에서 비대면 상황이 시사하는 교회의 공동체성에 대한 인식과 실천에 관한 사안과 연결된 이슈들을 파악하고 분석하였다. 이에 대한 신학적논지를 발전시키기 위하여 신앙과직제위원회가 2013년도에 출판한교회론에 대한 의견수렴 문서 『교회: 공동의 비전을 향하여』를 다른 위원회의 공적 출판물과 연관 지어 연구하였고, 특히 문서에서 나타나는중심적인 교회론적 개념인 코이노니아와 성만찬이 갖는 신학적 함의에 집중하여 살펴보았다. 이와 더불어, 네덜란드 개혁신학자 G. C. 베르까우어(Gerrit Cornelis Berkouwer)의 교회론에서 본 논문에서논의된 공동체성에 관한 문제에 대해 신학적 통찰을 가진 요소들을 살펴보고 적용한다. 특히, 베르까우어의 신율적 상관관계 개념은 저자의 동시성 개념과 융합하여 공동체성에 관한 교회론적 인식과 실천을 위한 개혁주의적 관점에 입각한 신학적 제언의 형성에 적용되었고, 여기에서 성도의 교제와 성만찬의 함의가 중요한 위치를 차지하였다.

Abstract

The article critically assesses several noticeable aspects of phenomenon of the online context that became a significant part of reality since the outbreak of COVID-19 pandemic. It is followed by an ecclesiological thesis in light of the concrete and communal nature of the church. The churches consistently utilised online platforms and contents for various ministry purposes. This reality implicates that the online context, which is mediated by digital and information technology, has gone through a process of consistent application and adjustment in and become a significant part of the life of the believers and the church communities. Digital and information technology has provided technological mediation for various online human interactions and activities. Despite a clear acknowledgement of its benefits and positive functions, the paper critically analyses its several distinct features, and discusses the related issues such as increased independence of individuals in relationships and their decontextuali- sation. In connection, the paper investigates into several interlinked subjects in the life of the church communities, such as the very perception and practice of the communal life, the fellowship and discipleship of believers, the unity of the church, and the togetherness of the church communities. For a theological thesis, Faith and Order’s convergence document on ecclesiology The Church: Towards A Common Vision, together with other official documents published by the Commission, is studied in view of its central ecclesiological theme of koinonia and with a special interest in theological implications of the Lord’s Supper. Along with this, an ecclesiological account of a Dutch Reformed theologian G. C. Berkouwer comes into play so as to seek room for contribution from a Reformed perspective. Here, Berkouwer’s principle of correlation and the author’s concept of concurrence work together to make suggestions for theological and practical perception and practice for churches today. For a thesis, the fellowship of believers and the Lord’s Supper receive significant attention.
