Abstract

In 1980s to 1990s, the Post-Hollywood Era defined as a second New Hollywood, a variety of investment and operating strategies have tried in the mega entertainment industry. This changing has led to fundamental alterations in the structure and elements of the segment. Most of Major studio became a important part of the big media company. Many film studios and broadcasting networks combined in the New Vertical integration strategy. Multi-national capital and new digital technology have led this new stage of hollywood. This essay analyzes the industrial paradigm shift in the Post Hollywood and concludes 6 main points ; Monopolistic market control by few major studios, Economy of scale through multi distribution windows, Risk management based on portfolio investment strategy, Management of average revenue instead of high risk high return, New technology included electronic and digital storing and distributing, New type of vertical integration and wide horizontal networking. These differences reflect obviously that the contemporary American Film Industry has shifted on another stage of industrial paradigm.
