바르테니에프 펀더멘털에 기반한 태평무의 몸적 체험 및 움직임 원리 탐색

이 연구는 한국 전통춤 태평무의 몸학적 체화를 통한 움직임 원리 탐색을 목적으로 하며, 엄가드 바르테니에프의 기초원리 중 발달 모형에 따른 신체 연결성 개념을 움직임 원리 해석의 준거로 삼는다. 바르테니에프의 기초원리는 무용, 라반 움직임 분석, 신체 치료의 오랜 경험과 임상을 바탕으로 확립된 움직임의 패턴화, 활성화의 원리이다. 연구를 통해 도출된 태평무의 움직임 원리는 몸의 유기적, 전체적 움직임을 위한 호흡 연결성, 몸의 높낮이 변화를 위한 머리-꼬리 연결성, 상체 주도적 뿌림을 위한 중심-말단 연결성, 하체 주도적 디딤을 위한 상체-하체 연결성, 상체 음양사위와 디딤의 상측 수행을 위한 신체-측면 연결성, 이동 경로의 제스처와 신체 부위 회전의 복합적 수행을 위한 교차-측면 연결성이다. 연구의 과정과 결과는 전통춤을 과거의 춤에서 오늘의 춤으로, 타인의 춤에서 나의 춤으로 재편하는 몸과 움직임에 대한 통합적 실천 방식의 일례를 제시했다는 점에서 의의를 갖는다. 수용의 춤을 체화의 춤으로 전환하기 위한 몸학적 탐구가 전통춤의 연구와 수련, 몸적 성찰에 단초가 되길 바란다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore and embody the movement principles of Taepyeongmu through Irmgard Bartenieff's somatic perspective. The Bartenieff Fundamentals are the principles of activating and re-patterning our bodies and movements. The movement principles of Taepyeongmu based on BF are as follows: Breath connectivity for organic and interrelated whole-body movement, head-tail connectivity for body level change, core-distal connectivity for gathering and scattering movement, upper-lower connectivity for contacting the ground, body-half connectivity for yin-yang rotation in place, and cross-lateral connectivity for body part rotation with traveling simultaneously. The process and results of the study are significant in that they present a practical example of an integrated research method for connecting the body and movement to recast a traditional dance of the past and of another to one of the present, and that can be made my own.
