부티크호텔 개념을 도입한 크루즈선박 객실인테리어 가능성에 관한 연구

Abstract

A major powerhouse in the global shipbuilding market, Korea has elevated cruise ship into one of its core ship construction portfolio based on the high level of shipbuilding and engineering technologies. However, the lack of fundamental cruise ship technologies in interior design and construction hinders further value addition, thus requires interdisciplinary linkage with space and fine arts to create high values. Therefore, this paper examines the successful art collaboration stories of boutique hotels and the potential of boutique cabin interior design relatively monotonous to other facilities despite the rising importance of residential function led by long-term sailing. The application of art themes of the sailing destinations, including the traditional art of Korea, into boutique cabin interior will enable passengers to enjoy culturally unique experiences. Thereafter, such development will lay a foundation for the improvement of Korea’s national brand value as well as the growth of its cruise industry.
