초록

성서적 통일신학이란 분단된 세계에서 살아가는 그리스도인들이 남과 북의 적대적 관계를 화해시키고자 성서적 세계관에 근거를 두고 실천하는 행동의 신학이라 정의 할 수 있겠다. 성서적 세계관은 구약과 신약을 포괄할 수 있는 신학적 핵심개념을 포괄하여야 한다. 필자는 포로기 이후 이스라엘 역사의 가장 중요한 신학적 산물 ‘이스라엘의 회복’ 사상이 그것을 대변한다고 생각한다. 이것은 당시 이스라엘의 민족적 과제이면서 동시에 인간의 회복과 구원이라는 보편적 희망을 지향하고 있다. 또한 이스라엘의 회복사상에는 선교의 관념이 내재되어 있는데, 선교는 이스라엘의 회복사상의 보편성을 표현한다. 기독교는 이 선교의 관념을 확대 강화하여, 궁극적으로는 자신의 정체성을 이스라엘이라는 민족적 속성에서 ‘하나님의 백성’이라는 보편적 성격으로 변형시킨 종교라고 할 수 있다. 통일신학은 이 선교적 특성으로 인하여 민족적 이데올로기에 함몰될 수 없다. 이러한 관점에서 필자는 ‘통일선교신학’이란 용어를 제안한다. 이것은 한반도에서 남과 북의 적대적 관계를 회복하고자 하는 교회와 그리스도인의 선교적 실천이라고 정의할 수 있다. 여기서 예수의 이웃사랑은 통일선교의 신학과 실천을 위한 해석학적 다리가 된다. 남과 북의 관계는 성서적 관점에서는 ‘민족’보다는 ‘피할 수 없는 이웃’이라는 개념에서 출발해야 한다. 더 나아가 예수는 이웃사랑을 원수사랑으로 급진화했다. 원수사랑에서 요구되는 것은 근본적으로 인간의 용서의 행위이다. 한나 아렌트는 ‘환원 불가능한’ 과거의 곤경으로부터 벗어나게 하는 치유능력을 인간의 용서의 행위에서 찾는다. 왜냐하면 용서란 “과거에 사로잡히지 않고도 과거와 더불어 살아갈 수 있는 능력”이요, 인간의 증오와 악의 사슬을 끊는 행위이기 때문이다. 그러므로 용서란 전쟁과 분단의 상처를 지고 살아가는 그리스도인의 화해의 행동이다. 이것은 분단된 세계 그 중심에서 일어하는 선포의 행위요, 그리스도의 십자가 복음을 선교하는 행동이 아닐 수 없다.

Abstract

Reunification theology can be defined as doing theology among Christians and in the church that will reconciliate the hostile relationship between the South and North on the Korean peninsula, based on a biblical world view. To describe Reunification theology in biblical perspective should be approached as a core theological concept which includes Old and New Testament theology. I argue that it is ‘the restoration of Israel,’ one of the most important theological products of the post­exile period. It is not only Israel’s national challenges in those days, but also the universal hope, i.e. the recovery and salvation of man. This universality is represented by ​​the notion of mission rooted in ‘the restoration of Israel’ itself. Christianity can be viewed as a religion which ultimately transformed its identity from Israel as a national nature to ‘the people of God’ as the universal by strengthening and expanding the notion and practice of mission. From this perspective is to be proposed a theological term ‘mission theology of Reunification.’ It can be defined as the missional practice of church and Christians who will restore a non­hostile relationship of the South and North. This nature of mission enables Reunification theology not to be caved in by national ideology. Jesus’ instructions to ‘love your neighbor’ is the hermeneutical bridge here for the ‘mission theology of Reunification’ and its practice. The relationship between the South and North should be based on an ‘unavoidable’ neighborhood rather than ‘national’ nature. Furthermore, ‘love of neighbor’ is radicalized by Jesus through ‘love of the enemies.’ Required in this demand fundamentally is the act of forgiveness of man. Hannah Arendt finds in it the healing powers which enable to liberate from the plight of the ‘irreducible’ past. Because forgiveness is not only an ability to live together in the past without getting caught up in the past, but also is an act of breaking the chains of hatred and human malice. Therefore, forgiveness is a reconciliating act of Christians burdened and living under the wounds of war and division. That is nothing but the missional act of proclaiming at the center of the divided world and evangelizing the gospel of the cross of Christ.
