Abstract

This study aims to explore the perspective of post-humanism, which is being discussed with thedevelopment of artificial intelligence, and to propose the direction of literature education based onit. Posthumanism is a paradigm in which science and technology and humanities are composed in acommon sense as a discourse on new human subjects that emerged with the development of scienceand technology. Both categories of science and technology and humanities have something incommon in that they recognize and try to overcome the limitations of rational humanism, pursue theexpansion of the body and spirit that achieve human abilities, and human identity is hybrid, fluid,and middle-class. However, the view of the human body as a vessel containing information can beseen as a task to restore aesthetic human beings living in history. Therefore, literature educationshould play a role in helping renewal of humanism corresponding to changes in the quality ofsociety, rather than discarding modern humans who have been incapacitated in the face of highlytechnical civilization. To this end, the direction of the education of literature is to be considered as an issue in termsof education through literature, education for literature, and education for literature. First of all,education is needed to develop sensitivity to posthumanism by using literature. It is necessary toactively utilize science fiction novels dealing with posthumans and to grow students into "idealobservers" through the process of communicating together. Second, it is necessary to deal withliterary tetanus in the era of posthumanism, which breaks boundaries in a hybrid way. This will allowfor the recognition of genre integration and creative composition as well as the content of literature. Finally, we suggest that topophilia should be nurtured to restore the senses and enhance awarenessof space and space in relationships with others. This direction is also the bridge of literature forfuture generations who must have new perceptions of humans and machines, real and virtual, selfand type in the posthumanistic era.
