Across time and in all countries of the world, the relationship between men and women becomes more promiscuous when tracing back the ages. Thus mankind lived a gregarious life with orgiastic sex as though animals during more primitive ages. It was after the emergence of a marriage system based on monogamy that mankind started having an ordinary sex life. China was no different, save for one unique aspect: the ruling class led such lewd trends, and as dignitaries, noblemen and business magnates became involved, such trends ended up expanding to the public and became embedded in the cultural fabric of the country. This article covers the development and intensification of the promiscuous sex culture of the ruling class in each age, from the Xia-Shang to the ZhanGuo era.
