본 논문의 목적은 과거 50년동안의 문헌정보학과 교과과정의 변화를 파악하는 것이다. 사서직의 교육은 다양한 요인들의 영향으로 변화할 것이라는 가정 하에 문헌정보학 교육의 배경과 변화요인을 살펴보고, 1960년대, 1980년대, 그리고 2000년대의 교과과정을 분석하고 그 결과를 비교하였다. 과거의 교과과정은 문헌조사로 이루어졌고 현재의 교과과정은 각 학과의 홈페이지에서 수집하였다. 비교의 결과는 교과목명의 수가 두배 이상 증가하는 등의 상당한 변화와 더불어 자료조직을 포함하는 변화가 없는 과목들을 보여준다. 교과과정의 변화는 정보기술의 발달을 반영하고 사회적 요구는 부분적으로 반영된 것으로 나타났다. 결과에 대한 해석과 앞으로의 교육 방향을 제언한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this paper is to trace the changes in the curricula of the Departments of Library and Information Science in the past fifty years. Under the assumption that the education for librarians is supposed to be changed by the influences of the various surroundings, the curricula in the 1960s, 1980s and 2000s of the Departments are analyzed. The past data were collected by literature searches and the present ones on the homepages. It was found out that there have been many changes along with constancies in the curricula. The results are interpreted and some recommendations are suggested.
