『八子百選』의 編纂과 刊行에 관한 書誌的 硏究

Abstract

The Dangsong-palja-baekseoun is the main issue of this research. Because Dangsong- paldaega-muncho, the Selected Works of Literary of Eight Masters in Tang and Ming Dynasty, is too long to read aloud and hard to study, the King Jeongjo selected 100 pieces from it and categorized them into 14 styles of writing. In this research, the hundred pieces of the Dangsong-palja-baekseoun were categorized and analyzed by writers and writing styles, and we discovered the criteria of the collection through comparing it with other writing piece collections and publications. First, the scholars mainly selected writings that have perspectives of Chu Hsi’ Neo-Confucianism. Second, the scholars partly accepted Mao Kun’s criticism when they were selecting pieces. Third, they did not refer external factors such as political stance and social reputation of writers. Fourth, they pursued balance and diversity when they choose main topics and stories of the pieces. As results of this study, we could discover hidden intention of the compilation of the Dangsong-palja-baekseoun. First, through the compilation, the scholars intended to criticize Chin and Han Dynasty Classical Literature School, and set Tang・Song dynasty`s work as exemplary sentences. Second, the scholars published it because they wish to provide a literature that helps readers to understand Tang・Song dynasty`s work easily. Third, they wanted to present the King Jeongjo’s view of literature, which gives respect to Zhu Xi’ Neo-Confucianism, and literary ideology, which values loyalty and vigor. Dangsong-palja-baekseoun is the top of the literary spirit flow in late period of Choson Dynasty and Munchepanjung that targeted on Chin and Han Dynasty Classical Literature School. This research has academic significance because its research method which compares Dangsong-palja-baekseoun writings pieces and other kinds of writing compilation has an academic importance.
