본 연구는 저소득 한부모 가정의 자녀들이 가족의 구조적 혹은 기능적 변화를 경험하면서 어떠한 삶을 살아가는지, 자녀의 시각으로 이해하고자 한 것이다. 연구 참여자는 10명의 저소득 한부모 가정의 자녀이며, 수집된 자료는 Giorgi의 기술적 현상학적 방법과 절차에 따라 분석을 하였다. 연구결과는 사적 공간에서의 삶, 저소득 한부모 가정의 자녀라고 하는 사회적, 사회복지적 지위에 의한 사회적 공간에서의 삶을 자녀의 관점에서 규명하였다. 또한 연구 참여자별로 4년에서 14년에 이르는 한부모 가정의 자녀로 살아가는 시간의 두께에 따라 발달시킨 전략을 제시하였다. 연구 결과, 한부모 자녀의 사적 공간에서의 삶은 ‘일상’없는 일상으로, 사회적 공간에서의 삶은 ‘다름’과 ‘틀림’ 사이에서 위태로운 횡단을 하고 있었다. 이 과정을 헤쳐 가는 발달 전략은 ‘아직과 이미 사이’라는 은유로 제시하였다. 마지막으로 저소득 한부모 가정의 자녀를 지원할 수 있는 청소년․가족복지에 대한 함의를 제시하였다.
Abstract
This study tries to investigate, through the eyes of the children of single parents, what kind of lives they are leading in the structural and functional transition of family. The participants of the study is ten children of low-income single parents and the collected materials are analyzed through Giorgi's descriptive and phenomenological method and process. The study investigates the children's lives along the two axises: one, their private lives revolving around their families and relatives; the other, their lives of social sphere revolving around their social status as the children of low-income single parents. Also, considering the age of target children ranging from four to fourteen, the study suggests a developmental strategy of the children who are living with low-income single parents. The result of the study shows that in the private sphere the children are leading 'everyday lives devoid of everyday' and in the social sphere they are hanging around in the midst of 'difference' and 'incorrect'. The developmental strategy the this study is trying to construct is suggested through the metaphor of "between 'still' and 'already'". Finally, the study tries to understand the new implications concerning the concept of adolescent and family welfare that can support the children of single parents.
