수용자 자녀를 위한 멘토링 프로그램이 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 대인관계기술에 미치는 효과

초록

본 연구는 수용자 자녀를 위한 ‘찾아가는 멘토링’ 프로그램이 자아존중감, 자기효능과 대인관계기술에 미치는 효과를 검증하는 데 목적이 있다. 멘토링 프로그램은 아동의 지역과 연령을 고려하여 총 11개의 소그룹으로 나누어 이루어졌고 각소그룹은 멘토 1명과 멘티 2~4명으로 구성되었으며 총 6회기로 이루어졌다. 연구대상은 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 수용자 자녀로서 보호자와 아동이 모두 자발적으로 연구참여에 대한 의사를 밝히고 사전･사후 설문에 모두 응답한 27명이다. 프로그램 실시 전과 후에 자기기입식 설문을 진행하였고, 응답 결과를 윌콕슨 부호 순위 검정 방법으로 분석하였다. 그 결과, 멘토링 프로그램에 참여한 수용자자녀의 자아존중감, 자기효능감, 대인관계기술 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상되었다. 따라서 본 연구는 수용자 자녀의 자아존중감, 자기효능감 및 대인관계기술 향상에 멘토링 프로그램 참여가 갖는 긍정적인 영향을 확인하였으며, 이를 바탕으로 정책적, 실천적 논의를 제시하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to examine the effects of the mentoring program for children with incarcerated parents in difficult environments on their self-esteem, self-efficacy, and interpersonal skills. The subjects of the mentoring study were 27 children of inmates who participated in the mentoring program, among whom both parents and children expressed their willingness to voluntarily participate in the study and responded to both pre- and post-surveys. We analyzed the differences in the results of the self-administered questionnaire consisting of self-esteem, self-efficacy, and interpersonal skills scales before and after the program using the Wilcoxon signed-rank test. The results of this study are as follows. The self-esteem, self-efficacy and the interpersonal skills significantly improved. This study empirically confirmed the positive effects of the mentoring program on improving the self-esteem, self-efficacy, and interpersonal skills. Based on the above analysis results, policy and practical discussions were presented.
