한국전쟁에서 낙동강방어선은 최후의 저지선이었고 공세이전(攻勢移轉)의 반격선이였다. 이 낙동강선을 미 제8군사령관이 최후의 저지선으로 설정하게 된 배경은 무엇인가? 이 방어선이 형성된 배경에 대해서 지금까지의 연구결과는 대전전투 이후 북한군의 호남 우회기동의 요인을 강조하였다. 그러나 본 연구에서는 그 배경요인과 지연전 전반에서 나타난 미군의 과오, 즉 북한군을 과소평가한 결과 부족한 병력을 축차적으로 투입한 전술적인 오류라는 요인을 추가하여 살펴보았다.
Abstract
Nakdong River defense line was hold the enemy's advance to the last. It was the turning point for the ROK Army and the U.N. Forces which were losing at the beginning of the Korean War. What were the major background for a General Walker established to line the last hold the enemy's advance? In the study by this time, the background factor of established to this defense line was go around into HoNam. but in this study was add to tactical error factor of America military force.
