This paper deals with expletive constructions involvong conjoined NPs or CPs. To account for the first conjunct agreement in expletive constructions involving conjoined NPs or CPs, I adapt the expletive there /it raising analysis to supplement Chomsky's (2000, 2001) Agree-based analysis. In other words, I claim that expletive constructions with conjoined NPs and CPs can be uniformly accounted for by assuming that expletives overtly raise to [Spec, T] from some lower position in the cluase to satisfy feature checking (see Waller 1997, Stroik 1996). It is worth nothing that this approach crucially relies on the basic assumption that feature checking is a property of movement.
