A brief exposition of the paradigm of cognitive scienceis given: its history of formation and basic characteristics. Its emerging relation to the future technologies is provided, following the NSF’s proposal of NBIC converging technology frame, Ray Kurzweil’s frame of the future technological singularity, and Brooks’sclaim of ‘the Cognitive Age’ instead of ‘globalization’ as the defining feature of the 21st century human society. Nine areas of the possible advancement of cognitive science technologies in the future human technologies are described. In conclusion, the general implications of cognitive science for the converging technologies in the future human society are discussed.
