연구배경: 사물 인터넷 관련 산업이 발달하면서 스마트 가전 제품이 등장하게 되었고, 식자재 관리 및 장보기 등 다양한 기능이 지원되는 스마트 냉장고가 시장에 출시되어 주목받고 있다. 그러나 스마트 가전 및 냉장고에 대한 연구는 공학적 성과에 치중되어 있어 사용자 경험 측면에서의 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 따라서 본 연구는 스마트 냉장고의 사용자 경험에 대한 질적 접근을 통해, 문제점을 개선하고 보완할 수 있도록 사용자 경험 디자인 전략을 제시하고자 한다. 연구방법: 본 연구는 스마트 냉장고의 근본적인 기술인 사물 인터넷에 대한 문헌 연구를 바탕으로 사용자 경험에 대해 심도 있는 분석을 위해 더블 다이아몬드 프로세스를 수행하였다. 구체적으로, 포커스 그룹 인터뷰와 컨텍스추얼 인쿼리를 통해 사용자를 관찰하였으며, 퍼소나와 고객 여정지도, 업무 모델링, 어피니티 다이어그램 구축을 통해 문제점을 발견하고, 이를 해결할 아이디어를 도출한 뒤 서비스 디자인 플랫폼 개발에 적용하였다. 연구결과: 총 7가지의 핵심 디자인 아이디어(①사용자 컨텍스트에 따른 인터랙션, ②사용자 중심 레시피 제공, ③높은 신뢰도의 정보 제공, ④자동 주문 배송, ⑤가계부 연동, ⑥유통기한 관리, ⑦커스터마이징)를 도출하였으며, 이를 토대로 3가지 아이디어(①충동구매 리마인드, ②매장지도 알림, ③카트 자동 결제)를 추가적으로 발견하였다. 또한 기존 스마트 냉장고 화면 기기의 불편함을 개선하기 위해 사용자 니즈를 반영하고자, 탈부착 방식의 화면 기기를 적용하였다. 최종적으로 도출된 아이디어를 냉장고 사용자 행동의 세 가지 단계인 ‘장보기’, ‘요리진행’, ‘식사 후 정리’를 기반으로 각 단계별 사용자와 제품, 이해관계자 사이의 인터랙션을 정리, 서비스 블루프린트로 시각화하였다. 결론: 본 연구는 기존 스마트 냉장고 사례를 통해 문제점을 확인하고, 사용자의 경험을 분석하여 숨겨진 니즈를 도출함으로써 문제점을 개선하고 보완할 수 있는 디자인 전략을 제안하였다. 이는 사물 인터넷 시대의 스마트 냉장고 사용자 경험에 대한 구체적이며, 적극적인 해결 방안을 모색하였다는데 그 의의가 있으며, 본 연구를 바탕으로 향후 사용자 경험에서 서비스 플랫폼까지의 확장된 해결방안을 모색하는 연구의 확대를 기대한다.
Abstract
Background: As IoT industries has grown, smart appliance including smart refrigerator with function of food management and grocery shopping etc. has appeared. But studies on them tend to be focused on engineering issues. Therefore this study will suggest UI strategy based on qualitative research on UX of smart refrigerator to improve the user experience. Methods: In this study, Double Diamond Process has been conducted based on the literature review regarding IoT, the fundamental technology of Smart refrigerator. Specifically Focus Group Interview, Contextual Inquiry were implemented for observation of users and Persona and Customer Journey map, Work Modeling, Affinity Diagram were conducted to find out the problems. And the ideas to solve them are applied to the service design platform development. Result: 7 salient ideas of the design are developed. (①the interaction according to the user context, ②user centered recipe, ③reliable information, ④automatic order & delivery, ⑤connection to household accounts (mobile application), ⑥management of expiry date, ⑦customization). And 3 ideas(①impulsive purchase remind, ②store map notification, ③automatic payment of shopping cart) are additionally founded. We proposed the detachable display device to ameliorate inconvenience of current Smart refrigerator and meet the user needs. Final ideas have been visualized as Service Blueprint regarding the interaction among the user, product and stakeholder according to the 3 steps of user behaviors, ‘shopping ingredients’, ‘cooking’, ‘cleaning up after meal’. Conclusion: In this research, the drawbacks of current Smart refrigerator are derived and unmet needs are examined by analyzing user experience so that design strategy for improvement of problems can be suggested. This research provides specific and concrete solutions for UX on Smart refrigerator in the age of IoT. Furthermore, we hope the expansion to the future research from UX to service platform on the basis of this research.
