고령자 안전생활지원 서비스 개선을 위한 ICT융합 선행연구 및 사례분석

Abstract

Background: Even though services applying ICT technology has been developed, the existing services have limitations to accommodate a variety of elderly needs. This study has been done to deduct insights and directions through the analysis of related preceding research data and service cases. Methods: For the study, first, characteristics of older people and ICT which is applicable to a service for the elderly’s safe living has been identified. Second, preceding research data has been analyzed. Third, existing ICT services have been categorized by the classification for technologies to support elderly’s safe living and evaluated each service by 3 point scale in terms of ease of use, information communicability, manageability and intimacy. Lastly, insights and directions for ICT service to support elderly’s safe living have been suggested. Result: As a result of preceding research analysis, the development of automatic monitoring services which can identify elderly activities through communities and people around the elderly is required. Considering difficulties of operation and use of IT device by older people, the ideas of minimizing operation and automatic processing should be studied. It is also suggested that older people do not feel being watched while receiving the service and addition of options like functioning as a door key which can be useful in everyday life. As a result of the analysis of service cases, it has been evaluated that considerations should be made for users who operate and manage services by themselves such as elders living alone. Conclusion: Customized approach reflecting the characteristics of individuals is required since older people are varied according to physical abilities, living environments and social-economic conditions. It is also necessary for establishing services for the elderly to be able communicate outside world through ICT without cutting off from society, while maintaining their independent living.
