초록
Particularly, the concept of usability has become highly valued in the area of information appliances and software where users’ output is mainly mental. As the usability of a product is more important, the comparative evaluation of these usability testing methods get more attention and become a critical issue. There are many disagreement and discussion to determine which methods are more effective among various usability testing methods. The aim of this paper is to compare various methods of usability testing conducted in every stage of design process. In this paper, several methods of usability testing were categorized and compared according to some views. The result of this study suggests that there is a shift from testing products at the end of a project towards early and continuous usability testing in the development process and for almost all reasons for doing tests, several methods could be used. The exact choice of usability testing methods would depend not only on the question to be answered but also on logistical factors.
