문학적 고찰을 통한 일본의 초고령사회 후기고령자의 캐릭터에 관한 연구―가키야 미우(垣谷美雨)의 『70세 사망법안, 가결』과 『노후자금이 없습니다』를 중심으로―
A Study on the Character of Post-Retirement Elderly in Japan’s Super-Aged Society through Literary Exploration─Focusing on Miu Kakiya’s “The 70-Year-Old Death Bill, Passed” and “I Have No Retirement Funds”─

일본 사회는 고령화와 저출산으로 인해 생산 노동력 인구 확보가 심각한 문제로 인식되고 있다. 이에 본 논문은 고령자고용안정법 이전의 작품인 『70세 사망법안, 가결』과 고령자고용안정법 이후의 작품인 『노후자금이 없습니다』의 캐릭터를 분석해 일본의 후기고령자의 역할에 대해 파악해보았다. ‘100세 시대’를 맞이하는 초고령사회의 고령자는 정년퇴직 이후 30여 년의 노후를 살아야 한다. 개인적으로 건강한 고령자들이 ‘생애 현역 사회’를 지향하는 분위기와 사회적으로 저출산 고령화로 인한 생산 연령 인구 부족 현상으로 장기적으로 고령자는 고용 시장에서 일익을 담당할 것이라고 예상된다. 2025년 단카이 세대(團塊世代)는 모두 후기고령자로 진입한다. 65세 이상의 고령자 중 후기고령자가 절반을 넘어서는 것이다. 한국 사회도 예상보다 앞선 2024년 12월 23일 초고령사회로 진입했다. 이러한 시대의 변화에 일본과 한국은 후기고령자의 역할에 관심을 가지고 이와 관련된 논의를 이어가야 한다고 판단된다.
Abstract
Japanese society recognizes the securing of a productive labor force as a serious issue due to aging and low birth rates. In this regard, this paper analyzes the characters of “The 70-Year-Old Death Bill, Passed”, a work before the enactment of the Elderly Employment Stabilization Law, and “I Have No Retirement Funds”, a work after the law’s implementation, to understand the role of Middle-old in Japan. In the era of the “100-year life,” the elderly in a super-aged society must live for more than 30 years after retirement. Personally, healthy elderly individuals are expected to contribute to a “lifetime active society,” while socially, due to the phenomenon of labor force shortages caused by low birth rates and aging, it is anticipated that, in the long term, the elderly will play a significant role in the labor market. In 2025, the Baby Boomer generation (Dankaï generation) will all enter the post-retirement elderly stage, with more than half of those over 65 becoming post-retirement elderly. South Korea also entered a super-aged society earlier than expected on December 23, 2024. Given these societal changes, both Japan and South Korea need to focus on the role of post-retirement elderly individuals and continue discussions related to this issue.
