ESG 경영은 본질적으로 리스크관리, 새로운 사업 기획, 건전한 파트너 십 구축이라는 관점에서 바라보아야 하며, 이를 위해 ESG에 관한 진정한 의미가 금융시장과 기업 전체에 내재화되어 궁극적으로 기업가치를 제고 할 수 있어야 한다. 서론에서 지적하듯이 ESG의 이념은 실제보다 과장되어서는 안되며, 나 아가서 ‘Green washing’이라는 위험성도 간과되어서는 안될 것이다. 이러한 관점에서 보다 본질에 접근하는 노력이 필요하고 금융시장 및 자본시장을 선도하는 국내 금융그룹들의 위상에 대한 자리매김이 중요하 며 금융에 수렴하는 접점을 찾아야 할 것이다. 세부적으로는 금융사의 경영전략에 기후변화 대응을 위한 ESG 전략을 추가하여 수립하며 ESG 경영의 핵심이라고 할 수 있는 지배구조 측면에 서 이사회의 감독기능 및 내부 보고체계의 유기적인 연계를 강화함으로써 그 구동 체계를 고도화할 필요성이 있다. 한편, 전통적 재무리스크 외에도 환경적인 리스크관리 강화가 중요하다 할 것이나, 여전히 재무적 성과는 충분히 강조되어야 할 것이다. 즉, 여전히 기업의 재무적인 성과는 기업 존립의 기본이며 ESG의 ‘E(Environment)’와 ‘S(Social)’의 핵심은 지배구조(Governance)라 할 것이 다. 급격한 금융시장에의 도입보다는 실질적인 수익성 확보를 우선시 하 는 ‘규제 중심의 정책’이 아닌 ‘인센티브 정책’이 되어야한다는 ESG 경영 에 대한 시각을 형성해야 할 것이다.
Abstract
In recent years, discussions on ESG management and the role of ESG in the financial market have been intensifying like a craze. In particular, in Korea, the long history of financial markets such as in Europe and the United States has not progressed, so on the other hand, the market and its participating companies are experiencing difficulties. It could lead to a major shift in capitalism or the emergence of the new term ‘ESG-nomics’ and reorganization of management activities and growth, and most advertising phrases claim that ESG is a ‘must, not an option.’ In another aspect, it can be seen that the concept of 'comprehensive wealth' was introduced to the concept of wealth measure or GDP. This study attempted to present the impact of ESG management and judgment on the domestic financial market and domestic financial groups, and to present the management status and development direction of domestic financial groups at this point, and to come up with recommendations for 'sustainable management' in terms of global standards. When defining ESG in one word, I would like to say 'Sustainability'. This suggests the probability that the justification for ESG may be exaggerated than it actually is. In other words, it also points out the question of whether ESG can guarantee “improving corporate value” and "long-term management performance" beyond what is called good work and social responsibility. Therefore, ESG management requires a mid- to long-term strategy to try to approach the essence and find a point of contact with finance while facing such risks.
