초록
Osteomas are benign, slow-growing tumors composed of mature compact or cancellous bone. This case report describes a rare, pedunculated osteoma arising from the palatal soft tissue of a 57-year-old male. Clinically, a firm, grayish-white mass measuring 4.2×3.3×2.0 cm was identified, attached to the hard palate by a narrow soft-tissue stalk. Radiographic evaluation demonstrated a welldefined radiopaque lesion on the palatal side, with no continuity with the underlying palatal bone. The lesion was completely excised under local anesthesia, and histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of osteoma. Unlike typical osteomas that originate from periosteal or endosteal bone surfaces, this case represents an exceptionally uncommon extraskeletal variant arising within soft tissue. This report adds meaningful clinical insight to the limited literature on intraoral extraskeletal osteomas.
