The purpose of this study was to estimate the regional economic impacts of 2017 Yeongju Seonbi Culture festival using a regional input-output model. Regional festivals are used as a means of revitalizing the regional economy, creating diverse and positive effects. However, as some problems related to regional festivals arise, there has been a need for testing the investment validity of regional festivals. Visitors of the 2017 Yeongju Seonbi Culture festival, one of the festivals representing the Gyeongbuk area, were surveyed for identifying their expenditure and for estimating the economic impacts based on the expenditure. Also, in order to estimate the economic impacts, the tourism industry multiplier of Gyeongbuk was derived by using the regional I/O table. As a result, this study suggested meaningful implications to secure the investment validity of the future festival based on the multiplier of tourism industry and economic impacts.
