Abstract
This study analyzes the political thought of the Hellenistic Age. During the Age, the Greek city-states were collapsed by Alexander the Great; the Macedonian Empire and its Diadochus kingdoms were replaced by the Romans. It investigates especially the characteristics of thoughts and theories of the major figures of that period such as Polybius and schools of philosophy including the Cynics, Epicureans, and the Stoics. The Roman Law tradition which is referred to as a major contribution of the Romans to the western world is also reviewed.
