Abstract

This study is to explore how psychology and sociality of non-disabled children of disabled parents changes over time. By using Korea Welfare Panel's data to set a Latent growth model, the sociality and psychology of children with disabled parents was explored. The results shared it was obvious that the disability af the parent had a negative impact on the child's early sociality and psychology. Specifically, the disability of the parent has an adverse impact on the children's psychology, thus resulting in child's sociality. However, the discrepancy of sociality and psychology between children with disabled patents and those who do not has reduced during a child's growth. These changes were determined to have statistical value. However still the psychology of children with disabled parents were relatively unstable compared to the psychology of children who do not have disabled parents. This shows that it is inevitable to practical intervene with psychological problems of children who have disabled parents. Moreover, since, it was revealed during the analytical process that the amount of Psychological changes leads to the amount of change in social changes, practical intervention on the psychology of children with disabled parents would be fruitful in improving the child's sociality as well.
