Abstract
This study compared scientifically gifted students and nongifted students in terms of thinking styles, which is based on Sternberg(2000)'s self-government theory and Sternberg & Wagner(1991)'s Thinking Style Questionnaire. Results showed that gifted students have more apparent thinking styles than nongifted students. Gifted students showed higher scores in legislative, judicial, local, internal, and liberal styles. On the other hand, Nongifted students showed higher scores in executive and conservative styles. Based on the results, the causes of the group differences and the possibilities of maladaption of gifted students, which is caused by their unique thinking styles.
