국내외 연구문헌 조사를 통한 근·현대 동산문화재 보존 연구 동향 분석

근·현대 동산문화재의 보존 기술 및 방안에 대한 연구가 20세기 말부터 국내외에서 활발히 진행되고 있다. 본 연구는 국내외 근·현대 동산문화재 연구 동향을 체계적 연구문헌 조사를 통하여 분석하였다. 먼저 근·현대의 시대적 범위를 설정하고 체계적 문헌 연구 방법으로 다양한 데이터베이스를 통해 연구논문을 수집하였다. 이 연구의 표본 집단은 국내 연구논문 45편과 국외 연구논문 505편으로 재질에 따라 총 7가지, 즉 지류, 금속류, 섬유·직물류, 사진·시청각류, 목재류, 플라스틱류, 도자기·유리류로 분류하였다. 분류한 재질별로 연구 대상, 세부 재질, 연구 주제를 개별적으로 조사하고 통계적으로 수치화하여 연구 동향을 분석하였다. 국내에서는 지류와 금속 문화재에 대한 연구가 가장 많이 진행되고 있으나 향후 연구 대상 및 주제의 다양화와 본격적인 분석 및 처리기술에 대한 연구가 요구된다. 국외에서는 지류, 섬유·직물류, 사진·시청각류 등 유기물 문화재에 대한 연구가 많이 진행되었으며 보존처리 및 분석뿐 아니라 보존 윤리 분야까지 다양한 주제가 연구되고 있다. 이 연구는 국내의 본격적인 근·현대 동산문화재 보존연구의 방향 설정을 위한 기초자료로서 활용될 것으로 기대한다.
Abstract
The research on the conservation of the movable modern and contemporary cultural heritage have beenactively performed internationally since late 20th century. In this study, the international research trends ofmovable modern and contemporary cultural heritage conservation in last decades were analyzed. Setting up therange of the period, research papers were collected through various databases based on the systematic literaturereview process. Samples of 45 domestic papers and 505 foreign papers were classified by materials as books andpaper, metals, textiles and fibers, photographs and audio-visuals, woods, plastics and ceramics and glass. Thetypes of treated artifacts, detailed materials of the treated artifacts, and the research subjects were investigatedfrom each paper. The data were compiled statistically and analyzed. Number of papers are publisheddomestically in the book and paper conservation and metals conservation fields, but there are needs for morediversified artifact types and extensive research subjects. The researches in foreign countries are active inconservation of organic materials such as paper, textile and photographs and deal with various research subjectson not only treatment techniques and elemental analysis but also preventive conservation and conservationethics. It is expected that this study would contribute to the field as a preliminary data on the conservation ofmodern and contemporary cultural heritage.
