Abstract

The bedclothes, in particular a bedding is made for a good relaxing environment, nowadays it plays the central role of house design in modern life. According to this design trends, many people are interested in the bedding, so it becomes a representative product expressing house design. Thus the bedding will be a good way to know the beauty of the formative characteristics of Hangul, which is expressed in modern design to modern women who think house design is important. Even though ‘Hangul’ has a geometric beauty and a simple structure, it could be transformed into various types that are made through symmetry, repetition, rotation and combination of each factor, so it is a great cultural original form which is able to be designed. Therefore the purpose of this study is to design and produce bedclothes applying ‘Hangul’ and to contribute to goods development elevating products and popular appeals together. This study sought to represent the traditions and figurative values from design based on a modern viewpoint for globalization and popularization of Korean beauty. For this purpose, I designed the bedding cloths combing the high-traditional valuable with ‘Hangul’ that has popularization and formative beauty. After having made cultural product designs. Like the study in the future, the design of cultural product satisfying the consuming needs of contemporary men must consistently be suggested by elevating the design of a new types of cultural product converging tradition and tradition, the design of bedclothes using the traditional values in modern life and the design varieties about the target product. I hope that the new design of bedclothes that will meet the consumption needs of modern people will be developed continuously.
