노년기의 요실금 기능성 팬티 실태조사 - 고령 여성을 중심으로 -

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to mitigate the inconvenience experienced by elderly women in an aged society caused by urinary incontinence through urinary incontinence protective underwear. The primary subjective of this study was 70 elderly women in Seoul area who were 60 years old or older. The survey was conducted using normal survey form to cover daily life aspects of urinary incontinence and the types of urinary incontinence, and other information regarding the reality they were in. After the survey, fit evaluation was conducted with 6 female subjects using three different types of urinary incontinence protective underwear(panties), to assess the satisfaction level with their dimensions, fit, and the urinary incontinence protection pad. The fit test was conducted using three commercially available urinary incontinence protective underwear A, B, and C. The satisfaction level test for the subject was conducted to cover the sizes of waist, hip, crotch, and the length of the urinary incontinence pad. The sizes of the urinary incontinence protective underwear were chosen based on the usual sizes of the subjects. With them, the evaluation was conducted on the front, lateral, rear sides and the pad. The intent of this study was to provide basic data to develop urinary incontinence protective underwear to enhance the quality of life for elderly women. With this, instead of suffering from urinary incontinence as a disease, it would help the elderly women enjoy their routines with less toil and enhance their quality of life through social relationships and activities. Also, it is the intent of this study to contribute to providing a more positive option for live for the elderly women through urinary incontinence protective underwear.
