Today, high expectations are being placed on protection of the environment and economizing natural resources. We are putting a lot of effort into eco-friendly and sustainable fashion design. This is the time to make an effort like this in the knit industry part. The purpose of this study is the contemplation of an eco-friendly and practical method of production, consumption and disposal in the knit industry through case study analysis. I got these results from the research shown here in. First, they natural fibers pollute the environment more than synthetic fibers because it need an enormous quantity of water in the process of producing thread. Second, synthetic fibers pollute the environment because of the release of poisonous gas from discarded products. It is necessary to prepare a way to extend the period of use for knit products to solve these two problems. I think we have to help consumer to reuse or recycle out-of-style or worn-out knitwear like Levi's ‘Forever Blue’ Campaign. On the other hand, most of the fine-gauge products that are produced by cutting & sewing create too much waste at the production stage. So, we’d better transfer to a system of seamless knitwear to reduce garbage. Low-gauge products need physical work when we want to re-use them because they have big thread, but the fine-gauge knits are easy to re-use. I hope that the knit industry will reform to be green industries by realizing sustainability.
