The modern society has faced the era of self-directed and continuous learning for lifetime to obtain knowledge as the most important capital and also to adapt to the rapidly changing society through the new technologies and education for self-realization, exceeding the existing viewpoint of getting educated for a certain period of time. By providing the opportunity of higher education to various types of learners, the chance of learning is given and also the manpower for high value-added industries is trained. As such changes of the times are connected to human's aesthetic desires and interest, they are expressed as complex appearance management behaviors like make-up, body-shape care & hair, skin beauty, nail art, and hair care. This study classified the institutes with beauty-related departments for academic credit bank system, one of the lifelong education system into types such as lifelong education center affiliated with university, vocational school, and lifelong education facility for academic credit bank system, and then selected total seven institutes in Seoul and Gyeonggi region, posted on the homepage of academic credit bank system of National Institute for Lifelong Education. The objective of this study is to provide the basic data for the development of cosmetology curriculum for academic credit bank system, by comparatively analyzing the curriculum and courses through the homepage of the selected institutes.
