시소 타는 현자賢者: 제2형 양극성 장애 여성의 삶의 경험과 의미

초록

본 연구는 제2형 양극성 장애를 가진 한 여성의 이야기를 통해 그 삶의 경험과 삶의 의미를 발견하기 위하여 수행되었다. 연구 참여자는 1인으로 심층 면담을 통한 자료 수집 기간은 2024년 2월부터 5월까지 총 8회의 면담을 실시하였다. 연구 과정은 Clandinin과 Connelly(2000)가 제안한 내러티브 탐구 절차에 따라 진행하였다. 연구 결과로 참여자 삶의 이야기는 8개의 이야기로 구성되었으며 연구 참여자의 유년기 시절부터 현재에 이르기까지 제2형 양극성 장애를 가지고 살아가는 삶의 경험과 그 의미를 파악하였다. 삶의 의미와 관련해서는 연구자가 시(poem)로 제시하였으며 연구자의 시는 ‘시소 타는 이야기’이다. 더불어 연구 참여자 삶의 의미는 ‘조와 울의 시소에서 균형을 찾는다.’, ‘괜찮지 않아도 괜찮다.’, ‘비좁았던 마음 사이로 사람이 들어온다.’, ‘상담으로 삶을 지켜낸다.’, ‘차기작은 계속된다.’ 로 도출되었다. 이러한 결과를 바탕으로 본 연구의 의의 및 한계점을 제시하였다.

Abstract

This study was conducted to discover the experiences and the meanings of life through the story of a woman with type 2 bipolar disorder. The study participant was one person, and data were collected through a total of eight in-depth interviews from February to May 2024. The research process was conducted according to the narrative inquiry procedure proposed by Clandinin and Connelly(2000). As a result of the study, the life story of the participant consisted of 8 stories, and the life experiences and meanings of the study participant with type 2 bipolar disorder from childhood to the present were identified. Regarding the meaning of life, the researcher presented it as a poem, and the researcher’s poem is a ‘story on the see-saw’. In addition, the meaning of the life of the study participant was derived as ‘Find balance on the seesaw of Joe and Wool,’ ‘It’s okay if it’s not okay,’ ‘People come in through their cramped hearts,’ ‘Protect their lives through counseling,’ and ‘The next work continues.’ Based on these results, the significance and limitations of this study were presented.
