『林園經濟志』와 朝鮮 養生의 志向에 대한 硏究 - 몸-자연-사회의 연계를 중심으로 -

임원경제지는 생산력을 높이고 생활의 윤택함과 여유를 즐기는 것에 가장 역점을 두고 저술되었다. 그에 더하여 가족, 마을 본고는 조선의 방대한 백과전서 임원경제지에서 조선 양생의 핵심을 음미해보고자 한다. 임원경제지의 양생 관련 항목을 본 논문의 주제와 구조에 맞게 다양한 사례와 함께 인용하여 제시하고 분석하였다. 임원경제지의 서유구는 유가 양생을 바탕으로 불가 선가를 통합했다고 하면서 개인의 몸과 환경, 사회의 모든 층위에서 건강과 안녕, 복리를 확보하고 향상시키기 위한 노력을 일관되게 시도한 것으로 파악된다. 그것은 유가 경전 중용의 이상과도 연계되면서 천지양생이라는 용어로 묶어낼 수 있었다. 구체적으로 보양지 인제지를 비롯하여 정조지, 예원지, 이운지, 유예지, 예규지 등 16지에서 개인양생 환경양생 사회양생의 카테고리에 들어 갈 수 내용을 추출하여 몸-자연-사회의 상호 연계를 통한 총체적 양생의 길로 이끌고 있는 모습은 우리에게 시사하는 바가 크다.
Abstract
Objectives : This paper intends to examine the essence of Joseon's cultivation techniques as written in the vast encyclopedia Imwon-gyeongje-ji. Methods : Items related to cultivation techniques in the Imwon-gyeongje-ji were brought together and analyzed through various cases that match the theme and structure of this paper, focusing on the relationship of Body-Environment-SocietyResults & Conclusions : Based on the contents of the Imwon-gyeongje-ji, it could be said that Seo Yu-gu consistently attempted to secure and improve health, well-being, and welfare in all levels of an individual’s body, environment, and society while stating to have integrated Buddhist and Daoist methods based on Confucius cultivation. This thought is linked to the ideals of Zhongyong, one of the main scriptures of Confucianism, which could be summarized by the concept of the Heaven-Earth Cultivation. In specific, contents within the 16 treaties of the Imwon-gyeongje-ji such as the Boyang-ji, Inje-ji, Jeongjo-ji, Yewon-ji, Yiwun-ji, Yuye-ji, Yegyu-ji, etc., that could be categorized as personal, environmental and societal cultivation has great implications for people today in that it could lead us to an integrated path of cultivation through the inter-connection of body, environment, and society.
