In this paper, we explain conditions of monic orthogonal polynomial system which is L-classical and give the first structure equation. The special cases of lowering operator L, forward difference operator and Jackson q-difference operator, are considered. And their functional difference equations are obtained in the last two theorems.

In this paper, we explain conditions of monic orthogonal polynomial system which is L-classical and give the first structure equation.
