The modified sombor index of a graph is defined as where E(G*) is the set of all edges in G*, and d(x') is the degree of the vertex x' in G*. In this paper, we deduce the lower bound for the modified SO index of a graph with w vertices having minimum degree at least three and identifies the corresponding minimal graph.
