본 논문에서는 1929년 한국기독교계에 기독교윤리 교육서로 보급된 스토커(James Stalker)의 『그리스도륜리표준』(The Ethics of Jesus) 제3장에 나타난 인간 본분과 실천윤리에 관한 지침들을 분석했다. 세부적으로는 기독교 전래 초기전통의 계승, 대신관계로서의 수직적 윤리관, 대인관계로서의 수평적 윤리관, 가정윤리, 국가윤리로 나누어 살펴보았다. 첫째, 본서는 한국기독교 초기의 전통을 계승했다는 데 의미가 있다. 본서에서 강조하는 공중예배, 안식일, 성경공부, 기도 등의 관점은 한국에 기독교가 전래된 초기부터 디딤돌이 놓이고 체질화 된 전통과 맥락을 같이 한다. 둘째, 수직적 윤리관에서는 하나님에 관한 참 지식을 바탕으로 일반계시를 통해 보여주시는 신, 언약의 신, 기도의 대상이신 신이라는 관점을 논증했다. 셋째, 수평적 윤리관은 인간사랑의 윤리로 집약된다. 스토커는 수직적 윤리관과 수평적 윤리관을 한 지평에서 유기적인 관계로 조명했으며 이 윤리는 궁극적으로는 복음전파와 구령사역으로 귀결된다. 넷째, 가정윤리는 결혼, 아동사랑과 남녀 평등, 부모공경, 하나님의 뜻을 추구하는 가정에 초점을 맞추었다. 본서는 종래의 보유론적(補儒論的) 태도에 저항하여 새롭게 성경적 윤리로 개혁을 시도한 값진 지침이 될 수 있었다. 다섯째, 국가윤리에서는 국가의 경계를 뛰어넘어 국가 간 협력과 세계화의 관점에서 모든 나라를 조망했으며, 개개인의 국가에 대한 의무와 권리, 그리고 무정부주의에 대한 위험성, 세계의 평화를 주요 논지로 전개했다.
Abstract
How would Japanese occupation and the principal ethical teachings of Christians have been developed? This paper will focus on this problem. In 1929 James Stalker has analyzed the ethical guidelines for human duties and practices shown in Chapter 3 of The Ethics of Jesus. First, it is placed as the early Christianity was introduced to Korea is a stepping stone to the traditional perspective and context of public worship, the Sabbath, Bible study, prayer that is highlighted in the book. Second, the argument gives the perspective of general revelation as seen through the true knowledge of God based on God, God's covenant, God who is the subject of prayer in the vertical ethics. Third, the intensity in the horizontal ethics is an ethics of human love. Stalker was illuminated with an organic relationship from one horizon to the vertical and horizontal ethics ethics results in evangelism and ministry, ultimately, the ethics shout. Fourth, focused marriage, love and equality between men and women, children, the home to seek the will of God respecting parents, family ethics. Fifth, the state ethics beyond the boundaries of the country has views of all countries in terms of global cooperation among nations, rights and obligations, for each individual country has developed and played a major risk, the peace of the world for the anarchist.
