초록
This study analyzes the results of the geomorphological survey conducted during the 5th National Ecosystem Survey to evaluate the relationship between landforms and the occurrences of endangered species. Based on this relationship, the study further assesses the value of landforms as potential habitats and proposes strategies for their utilization. The findings demonstrate more reliable assessments of conservation grades due to the ongoing implementation of an objective and quantitative evaluation system, which was first introduced in 2016. The occurrence of endangered species was concentrated in specific landform units, such as riverine and lacustrine wetlands, revealing significant differences in frequency among these units. By considering the cumulative occurrences of endangered species, the number of taxa, and the species richness for each landform unit, a total of 13 landform units were identified as valuable habitats. These units can be classified into different groups assigned with varying evaluation points and integrated into the existing assessment system. The results of this study can contribute to biodiversity preservation and effective land management by underscoring the value of landforms as habitats and providing clear justifications for their conservation.
Abstract
This study analyzes the results of the geomorphological survey conducted during the 5th National Ecosystem Survey to evaluate the relationship between landforms and the occurrences of endangered species. Based on this relationship, the study further assesses the value of landforms as potential habitats and proposes strategies for their utilization. These units can be classified into different groups assigned with varying evaluation points and integrated into the existing assessment system. The results of this study can contribute to biodiversity preservation and effective land management by underscoring the value of landforms as habitats and providing clear justifications for their conservation.
