의미해석론의 문제점

Abstract

In the present paper, the author points out the problems raised in the systems of the meaning-interpretation theories with the help of the work in Choˇng (1982). Main points checked out are the following: (1) that the various problems lying in these systems are wholly due to the fallacy of the direction for language description, and (2) that because the functional direction is disregarded in the choice, these systems are necessarily to miss the generalization in explaining linguistic facts. In other words, the author argued that the semantic component, being the prerequisite for the syntactic description, should be described ahead of the syntactic component.
