Abstract
In constructing the noun phrase complement sentences, Middle Korean is different from Modern Korean in inserting the prefinal ending `-0-` to the modifying verbal ending `-n`, `-l`. This article tried to explain which bound noun phrase complement needs `-0-` and what is the mechanism to delete it. The method of IC Analysis was used to analyze the bound noun complement sentences to clarify their syntactic functions. The results are as follows ① `-0-` is inserted to the NP-complementation, is not inserted to the ADVP-complementation and even thouth it is NP-complementation, when it functions as predicative, `-0-` is not inserted. ② `-0-` is getting dissappeared when NP becomes ADVP or it is used as predicative function. This process results in the embedding clause becomes the subordinate clause as the bound noun becomes verbal ending. There are bound nouns whose function changes through times in the direction of NP>ADVP>Verbal Ending. ③ Middle Korean bound nouns can be made in order according to the degree of inserting the prefinal ending `-0-`. This order accords with the degree of constructing NP-complement also. But there is an exception in the forms of `da`, `sa`. They were on the course of becoming verbal ending in Middle Korean already, so they show irregularities.
