국어대사전의 새로운 발음정보 처리 방법에 대하여

Abstract

I think there has not been enough information of pronunciation in Korean dictionaries so far, due to strong phonographic feature of Hangeul, economy principle in editing paper dictionary and so on. And the lack of information has reduced user's conveniences. Now we should reconsider pronunciation information in terms of correctness and convenience. So I claim the following things: (1) As phonetic symbols, Hangeul is no longer appropriate. (2) We need the exact introduction about the values of the phonetic symbols. (3) The information of automatic phonological processes should be reflected. (4) The pronunciation of inflected forms should not be omitted. (5) The more detail representations of two kinds of long vowel are needed. (6) The forms without orthography should be contained in dictionaries. In an inevitable policy by which the pronunciation is represented in Hangeul, the omission of entire pronunciation is not reasonable in terms of user's convenience. And the omission of syllable(s) that is(are) the shared part with the orthography is not good, either.
