초록
While normal infants’ speech and language have been developed through usual hearing and even hearing from fetal stage, the hearing-impaired children happened to have difficulty in speaking normal speech. They also have been suffering from language impairment due to early hearing loss. In this study, we developed a sweep-tone signals, which rises or falls between 500-9000Hz along with varied durations, to improve the hearing-impaired persons’ ability of perceiving and producing normal speech. We put the 152 sweep tones into 4 folders by 38 stimuli. The 38 stimuli containing in one folder were heard to the subjects in each and every class. After the training of listening sweep tones, the articulation accuracy, speech intelligibility, and listening ability to word-initial, word-medial, word-final consonants and vowels were evaluated, respectively. Except for a few subjects, most of them showed statistically significant difference between before and after training, which indicated that subjects showed a lot more improvement in speech perception and production.
