초록
Dung beetle larvae at the 3rd instar were injected withlipopolysaccaride and inducible proteins were examinedwithin a pI level of 3-10 and a size level by proteomics, including 1-D SDS PAGE analysis andantibacterial assay. The immune infected larvaeextracts provided seven protein bands in one-dimensionalelectrophoresis and its antibacterial activity alsochecked. Hemolymph protein from immune infectedlarvae of the dung beetle were separated by twodimensionalgel electrophoresis and compared withthose from native larvae. In 2-D gel electrophoresis, wedetected 63 immune infected unique and 32 up-regulatedproteins, and 36 proteins that were down-regulatedor not present in treated gel. Ten protein spotsfrom unique proteins and those presented as differentlevel of abundance in infected and native larvae werespecially expressed. These differentially expressed proteinswere proposed to be involved in the defensemechanism against microorganism.
