초록
LTE (Long Term Evolution) 및 LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) 망에서는 사용자에 대한 시스템 용량 향상을 위해 펨토셀(femto-cell)을 이용한 계층적(hierarchical) 셀 구조를 고려하며, LTE/LTE-A에서 고려되는 펨토셀은 일반적으로 특정 개인 및 집단에 제한된 접속을 허용하는 배타적 접속(ClosedSubscriber Group; CSG) 펨토셀로 구현된다.
Abstract
In LTE (Long Term Evolution)/LTE-A (Long Term Evolution-Advanced) networks, hierarchicalmacro/femto-cell structure is adopted to enhance system capacity. Such a femto-cell is deployed as a ClosedSubscriber Group (CSG) eNB. However, the inbound handover to CSG cell experiences longer delay than normalhandover because it spends more time detecting the associated CSG cells due to its sparse deployment. Most of all the legacy UEs (User Equipments) have been implemented without considering the inbound CSGhandover. Accordingly, they may not meet the performance requirements on the cell discovery described inthe LTE/LTE-A standards. Therefore, in this paper, the performance of the CSG femto-cell detection is evaluatedusing computer simulation. The evaluation results will provide a basis to tackle the latency problem ofinbound CSG handover.
